Mirka Eliášová

Mirka Eliášová – dancer, pedagogue, choreographer
graduated in choreography at the Dance Department of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In the following years she devoted herself to the use of improvisation in contemporary dance and in 2007 she defended her dissertation in choreography theory. Currently she works as a teacher at the Dance Department of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and she devotes part of her efforts to working with children at the Music School in Prague 8. Since 1997 she has created more than twenty original choreographies. National Theater in Prague and Theater in Ústí nad Labem, participated in the creation of four dance films, won the Prix de Intellect 2000 award and prize for dance film at the student festival in Písek. Since 2008 he has been cooperating with Berg Orchestra on site-specific performances on live music by contemporary composers. Her work has also been shown at international dance festivals.

She has been teaching children since 1997, she works at the Music School in Prague 8. Together with her children students she has created a number of choreographies that have been successfully presented and awarded at national shows and festivals.
